Val Levine is a former world professional figure skater. After a childhood career in competitive skating, she performed professionally in ice shows and eventually became a skating choreographer.
During her years as a skater Val carried large leather bags filled with clothing and skates from rink to rink. To lighten the load and add her own personal flair, she began creating her own totes using unusual fabrics and trims.
These bags, as well as smaller designs, quickly became popular among her fellow skaters and coaches. Val's designs have been worn by Olympic skating stars Oksana Bauil, Dorothy Hamill, Tatiana Navka, Jo Jo Starbuck and Elaine Zayak.
